It happens that some clearnet sites do not allow access to the site using the Tor anonymous network. This is done using blacklists, in which the Tor IP addresses are entered.
Therefore, a situation may arise when it is necessary to hide the fact of using Tor.
Before we start setting up, I would like to briefly go over the terms. In a nutshell, without going too deeply into theory.
What is the Bridge?
A bridge is a special node in the Tor network, whose IP addresses are not publicly publicized. The use of bridges makes life difficult for the owners of large sites and providers and prevents blocking of public IP addresses. They are of course blocked, but not as fast as public ones.
What is Meek?
Meek is a transport that uses HTTP to transfer information and TLS to obfuscate all traffic by redirecting it through the CDN's content delivery network before sending it.
What is CDN?
CDNs are servers located in different countries and on which special software is installed. This technology is used to accelerate the delivery of content to the end user.
Well, I think you already figured out that we are going to stir up. That's right, we will take the addresses of these servers and feed them our Tor.
How to hide your Tor IP address?
So let's get started.
The first step is to launch Tor. After that, by clicking on the button on the bulb, which is located on the top panel, and selecting the item "Configuring the Tor network", we will go into the settings.
The network settings window will appear. Check the box "My favorite provider is blocking access to the network" and click on the round timber "Insert bridges with handles".
Now we go to the official site of the Thor project, click on the second item "Get bridges".
We leave everything on the page as it is and click on the "Get Bridges" button.
We run behind the eyepieces and recognize the captcha.
After the page loads, you will see the bridge addresses. Click on the "Select all" button and copy to the clipboard.
You can also get the bridges' IP addresses by emailing bridges@torproject.org. The request must be sent only from the mail services Gmail or Yahoo.
So we have addresses. Return to the Tor settings, paste the copied addresses and click on "OK".
Add as many bridges as possible, the more the better. This increases the reliability of the service. If you only connect one or two bridges, don't be surprised that Tor isn't working.
If you do not have enough addresses and Tor does not work, you can try using the "Connect to predefined bridges" function, see the screen above.
That's it. Now the sites will not be able to determine the IP belonging to the Tor network and you can go to the site that blocks Tor IP addresses.
