On March 18, attackers attacked the servers of a Russian domain registrar.

The Russian domain registrar and hosting provider reg.ru, which serves 44% of domains in the .ru zone, was attacked by hackers. The attackers tried to break into one of the company's virtual hosting servers, the reg.ru press service told TASS.

Shortly before that, the pro-Ukrainian hacker group UHG announced that it had gained access to the reg.ru client database. The attack was carried out on March 18 - hackers used a vulnerability in the software on the website of one of the clients of <url> and were able to connect to the database server of the affected server. However, reg.ru assured that at that moment the intruders were detected and stopped.

In its Telegram channel, UHG published a link, probably to part of the reg.ru customer database. However, the hosting provider assured that it is impossible to talk about any significant damage to the reg.ru databases or a threat to corporate clients. Experts have already fixed the detected vulnerability and updated the credentials that were at risk.
