Alexey Murzin was sentenced to three years of restriction of freedom.

The Leninsky District Court of Yekaterinburg has sentenced Alexey Murzin, who was found guilty of illegal cryptocurrency mining in computer clubs.

According to the case file, Murzin and his accomplice developed a program that allowed them to bypass the security systems of clubs and gain access to computer hard drives. By renting computers ostensibly for games, the attackers hacked them and installed the T-Rex mining program for cryptocurrency mining.

As a result, the equipment of the clubs began to mine cryptocurrency, and the earned funds were transferred to the hackers ' personal crypto wallets. According to the investigation, about 20 million rubles were found on the accounts of the attackers. Murzin explained the origin of money by income from cryptocurrency trading on exchanges.

The court found Alexey Murzin guilty and sentenced him to 3 years of restriction of freedom. During this period, he will be required to observe a curfew, regularly report to the police and not attend mass events.
