In Alicante, officers of the National Police arrested a 31-year-old native of Ukraine. The man was on the international wanted list at the request of the Russian authorities and is accused of creating and participating in an organized criminal gang of fraudsters.
It is noted that law enforcement officers found the attacker in one of the city hotels, where he rented a room. It is known that at the end of 2021, the Ukrainian posed as a bank employee and convinced the victim to transfer him about 88 thousand rubles to his personal account (about 850 euros at the exchange rate).
As a result, the illegally obtained funds were appropriated by him and his accomplices. After the arrest, the case was transferred to the Alicante Regional Court for further consideration. At the same time, the central court in Madrid was informed about the successful detention of the criminal in a timely manner. The warrant for the search and detention of the Ukrainian was issued by the Russian special services.
