Under the procedural guidance of prosecutors of the Cherkasy District Prosecutor's Office, two residents of the city of Cherkasy were notified of suspicion on the fact of fraud committed by prior conspiracy by a group of persons (Part 2 of Article 190 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The investigation found that the 21-year-old and 22-year-old men posted false ads on the websites "Avtozapchasti.com.ua" and "zapchast.com.ua" for the sale of spare parts for cars, knowingly not intending to sell them.
Later, after reaching an agreement with the victims on the purchase of car parts, the attackers provided the current account of JSC CB PrivatBank through the Viber application for the transfer of funds with the necessary goods. After receiving the funds, the men disposed of them at their own discretion, and did not supply the goods.
In total, the suspects deceived 24 people in the amount of almost 444 thousand hryvnias.
The pre-trial investigation in criminal proceedings is carried out by the Military Forces of the Cherkasy District Police Department of the GDNP in the Cherkasy region with the operational support of cyber police officers.
