At the airport in Tennessee, three women aged 22 to 34 were detained on suspicion of fraud with gift cards. They were noticed after they tried to pick up luggage issued in the name of another person.

The suitcase arrived in Tennessee on an unaccompanied Southwest Airlines flight. A woman whose name didn't match the name on the luggage tag tried to pick it up. She left, but her behavior seemed suspicious to the local police, who opened the suitcase. Inside were a lot of new clothes with tags, receipts, a fake Pennsylvania driver's license, and a stolen credit card.

The security forces called for reinforcements and waited for developments. A few hours later, the same woman tried again to collect her luggage, but was rejected again instead. The police followed her to the airport parking lot, where, as it turned out, cardershu was waiting in the car with two of her friends.

During a search of the car, 302 (!) gift cards from 11 different retailers were found in the amount of 20.5 thousand dollars. There were also receipts and $ 9,000 worth of freshly purchased goods. All three women said they did not know how all this stuff ended up in the car. But the operatives managed to unwind the entire chain.

They found out that women came to stores where they bought eight gift cards, which they paid for with money from stolen credit cards. After that, they waited for several days and issued a refund in other stores of the same chain, but only one card at a time. A simple scheme made it possible to legalize money stolen from someone else's plastic.
