Muslim credit cards
In countries that preach Islam, traditional credit cards are prohibited. This is due to the laws of Sharia, which do not welcome usury. Therefore, Muslims have strict prohibitions on some banking operations: receiving and paying interest, deposits, loans, overdrafts.
In order not to violate religious precepts, banks in Islamic countries began to issue special Muslim cards. Their main difference is the absence of interest on loans. Such credit cards have even been approved by the Shariah enforcement authorities.
Plastic Cards Keeping Shabbat
Other opponents of classic credit cards are Orthodox Jews, who strictly adhere to the religious laws prescribed in the Torah. One of these rules is the Sabbath, a time of rest during which all work is prohibited. Any purchases and banking operations are also prohibited.
In order not to break the law and strictly follow religious traditions, the Israeli bank issued a special bank card that does not work during the Sabbath. The creation of such a card was initiated by the Orthodox community. The bank card is automatically blocked on Friday at sunset time, and resumes operation a day later - on Saturday evening. Due to these restrictions, Jews cannot conduct banking transactions in those establishments that do not observe Shabbat.
Controller card
Often, when paying for purchases, we forget what the balance is on our card. In order not to look for the nearest ATM, South Korean inventors came up with a unique card. It is able to show the account balance at any time, even when there is no bank or terminal nearby. The card itself also displays information about the payments made for goods or services.
Another useful function of such a card is setting a limit. When the declared limit threshold is exceeded, the card changes color - a piece of plastic turns blue. There is enough sunlight to recharge your unique bank card. And thanks to the minimal contact with ATMs and terminals, its service life is much longer compared to other cards.
