The task of ideologists is to teach and accustom people to see and understand the world around them and themselves, not as they are in themselves, but as it is required according to the a priori teachings of the ideologists themselves - to teach people not to independently cognize being, but to how people should see being, what to let into their consciousness from what they have to face, and in what form.
In other words, ideologists invent a certain vision of being, and it becomes a priori in relation to the formed consciousness of members of society. Ideologues impose this vision on all members of society, including themselves.
It is necessary to distinguish between how ideology is historically formed, and how it functions, having formed in its basic features. On the first path, it proceeds from some results of cognition and is constantly nourished by them, uses some means of cognition. But it does this not with the aim of cognition, but with the aim of creating the means of fulfilling its function in society, with the aim of creating an apparatus for an a priori vision of the world and processing information about this world in the spirit of this apparatus.
Ideologues invent intellectual linguistic schemes, stamps, cliches, labels, images, generalizing examples and patterns, parables, catch phrases, slogans, etc., and not as auxiliary means on the way to cognition of being as it is, but as the final and highest result of knowledge. They themselves claim to be the highest truth, the ultimate truth. People must assimilate these products of ideologists and look at the phenomena of life only through them.
