The investigation of the Department of Internal Affairs of CJSC GU of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in Moscow has completed the investigation of a criminal case on the sale of counterfeit foreign currency, the person involved in which was a 25-year-old visiting man.
It was previously established that the accused purchased a lot of fake banknotes with a face value of 100 US dollars each, after which he posted an ad on the Internet about their sale for Russian rubles at a price lower than the market price. Two people responded to the offer, one of whom paid 451 thousand rubles for 50 counterfeit banknotes, and the other gave the attacker more than 1.5 million rubles for a larger amount of fake foreign currency.
Later, after receiving reports of fraud, the person involved was identified and detained in one of the shops on Lobachevsky Street by employees of the Department of Economic Security and Anti-corruption and a separate battalion of the patrol and post service of the Police Department of the Department of Internal Affairs of CJSC GU of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in Moscow.
During the personal search of the accused, another 100 banknotes with a face value of 100 US dollars each were found and seized. According to the method of printing banking details and security elements, they do not correspond to samples of similar printed products and are fake.
At present, the criminal case initiated on the grounds of a crime under Part 3 of Article 186 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, together with the indictment, has been sent to the Nikulinsky District Court for consideration on the merits. The defendant is in custody.
