The court sentenced a resident of the Novosibirsk region to five years in prison for deliberately false denunciation with the artificial creation of evidence for the prosecution.
On August 6, the press service of the military courts posted information on the Telegram channel about the trial, which took place in the 2nd Eastern District Military Court.
The accused was a resident of the Novosibirsk region, Peter Remennykh. The defendant, as stated in the verdict, "acting out of personal hostility to the victim, with whom he had unresolved financial disputes, wanting to bring him to criminal responsibility, made a false denunciation about the commission of crimes by him, with the artificial creation of evidence for the prosecution."
The accused, on behalf of the victim, registered a page in the social network VKontakte and the Telegram messenger. There, on behalf of the victim, Remennykh posted "publications insulting the memory of defenders of the Fatherland, humiliating the honor and dignity of veterans of the Great Patriotic War, as well as containing public calls to carry out terrorist and extremist activities and public justification of terrorism."
The publications themselves were carried out from a tablet computer with a SIM card purchased specifically for this purpose, and Remennykh posted posts near the victim's house. The tablet itself was hidden by one of the friends of Remennykh near the victim's house, where it was found by the FSB of Russia.
The 2nd Eastern District Military Court sentenced Remennykh to 5 years in prison to serve his sentence in a general regime penal colony. He is also deprived of the right to engage in activities related to the public placement of appeals and other materials in public information and telecommunications networks, including the Internet, for a period of 2 years and 6 months.
