The Global Conference on Combating Cybercrime was held from 15 to 17 October 2023 at the INTERPOL Innovation Center in Singapore. The event was attended by a Russian delegation led by the head of the National Central Bureau of Interpol of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, Police Major General Valery Kalachev.

The conference brought together representatives of regional police organizations, international organizations and heads of law enforcement agencies of foreign countries.

During the forum, its participants discussed issues related to cooperation in the field of countering cyber threats and ensuring international information security. Strengthening interaction between law enforcement agencies of different countries in the fight against new types of cybercrimes committed by transnational organized groups is identified as a key topic.

Speakers noted that digital infrastructure has made it easier for criminals to use new technologies to commit cybercrimes. The importance of international cooperation with foreign partners, including within the framework of Interpol, was emphasized to effectively suppress the activities of fraudulent syndicates and, ultimately, the return of stolen funds.

An analysis of the situation presented at the conference notes that, as a rule, victims of cybercriminals are sent emails containing links that, when clicked, collect information about credit cards or personal data of users. As a result of such actions, over 70 thousand people from 43 countries were injured.

Participants at the INTERPOL Global Conference outlined joint further actions to plan, coordinate and conduct future activities aimed at combating cybercrime.
