An international operation of law enforcement officers put an end to the online activities of the operators of the Ragnar Locker ransomware program: the police stopped Tor sites that attackers used to contact victims and publish stolen data.
Law enforcement agencies of the United States, Germany, France, Italy, Japan, Spain, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic, and Latvia took part in the operation. Thanks to their efforts, the cybercriminals website now boasts the following inscription::
A Europol spokesperson confirmed the successful results and promised an official press release soon. The FBI, according to BleepingComputer, declined to comment so far.
Recall that the Ragnar Locker cryptographer is known for compromising internal ADATA data: operators then managed to steal 700 GB. In addition, the ransomware was highlighted in a targeted attack on Capcom.
