Internet courts in China have handled more than 350,000 cases since they were founded, CGTN reports.

China's online industry has grown rapidly in recent decades. But just as the Internet brings convenience to many, it also provides criminals with the technology and space to commit crimes, experts say.

"To meet the growing demands of litigation arising in cyberspace, three Internet courts have been established in China since 2017. Since then, more than 350 thousand cases have been considered," the report says.

According to Jiang Ying, President of the Beijing Internet Court, the role of courts in managing cyberspace is also increasing.

"This requires us to actively perform the role of judicial protection. We are here to promote the governance of cyberspace and the process of legalizing it," she told a Chinese TV channel.

Recall that in the period from 2017 to 2018, Internet courts were created in China. Later, several online tribunals were set up across the country.

Three Internet courts are located in Beijing, Hangzhou in Zhejiang Province, and Guangzhou in Guangdong Province, while three Internet tribunals are located in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, Suzhou, Jiangsu Province, and Changchun, Jilin Province.

The specific nature of Internet courts lies in the jurisdiction of cases related to this network, as well as in the fact that all their activities are carried out online-from the stage of initiation of proceedings to its completion. The document flow of online courts is also carried out in electronic form.

As a rule, such courts deal with cases related to online fraud, online commerce and agreements, copyright infringement on the Internet, and domain disputes.
