The US Federal Court sentenced the 22-year-old leader of a fraudulent group to 8.5 years in prison. According to Fox10, Arrington Jaylun Gardner pleaded guilty in December 2022. At the same time, most of his accomplices are already serving their sentences.

Curiously, Gardner was held in two cases at once in parallel — according to the number of fraudulent schemes implemented by him. At the same time, in the second case, the verdict also turned out to be guilty (six years), but the American was allowed to serve his two terms simultaneously. But Gardner will have to pay about 200 thousand dollars to financial organizations that he was able to deceive.

The 12-member group operated in Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi and Louisiana from December 2021 to May 2022. The first scheme was limited to cashing forged and stolen checks at ATMs. In the second type of theft, Gardner made the first installments for cars, but took out loans for the rest of the amount on fake driver's licenses or using the data of real people. Thus, he managed to purchase a BMW and Audi A5 Sportback.

Nine members of Gardner's group received milder sentences-from one day to three years in prison. The other defendants have not yet learned their sentences.
