The Federal Security Service of Russia for the Vologda Region has completed the investigation of a criminal case against a Vologda hacker who in February 2023 obtained unauthorized access to power grid technological management systems and cut off power supply in 38 localities in the region.

We are talking about settlements in the Sheksninsky district, Ustyuzhensky and Babayevsky districts. A criminal case was opened on the fact of this incident under part 4 of Article 274.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (Unlawful influence on the critical information infrastructure of the Russian Federation).

The investigation found that a local resident born in 1975 was involved in the crime. Now the criminal case has been sent to the court for consideration on the merits. The suspect is on his own recognizance not to leave.
