Cybersecurity experts from the Cyble Research Team discovered a database for sale containing information on millions of Internet users, as reported on the company's website. The database contains information about accounts on different sites. Most of the profiles that are listed for sale were registered several years ago. For example, the database contains information about 300 million AliExpress users who created their accounts in 2014.
In addition, the attackers put up for sale personal information of 145 million Ebay users, 77 million Sony PlayStation Network users, 35 million Steam users (Valve), 14 million Blizzard Entertainment customers and many others.
Experts gave some tips on how to avoid becoming victims of scammers. They recommended never to send personal data by e-mail or SMS, use complex passwords, enable automatic software updates on your computer and phone, and use antivirus software.
