This chapter measures the state of free employment in modern Russia on the basis of the author's methodology for sociological research of carding, identifies the main regularities of the functioning of the carding services market and suggests ways to improve it.
The state of carding in modern world
Based on the number of registered users of the largest Internet portal dedicated to carding, their number now exceeds 1.3 million people.
Over the past few years, the number of employees who want to work for themselves, develop creatively and self-actualize has been steadily growing. Not only the number of carders themselves is growing, but also the interest in them from less free workers, the media, and the state.
According to a survey conducted by the author, almost every second urban resident of Russia (54%) is aware of such a phenomenon as carding. For the most part, these are people with a high level of education, employed in the IT sector, media, creative professions, education, most often in managerial positions, as well as individual entrepreneurs.
Most of the residents of small and medium-sized cities with an average and lower secondary level of education have not heard anything about carding - representatives of blue-collar occupations employed in industry, construction and transport, as well as the unemployed and pensioners.
Free employment - carding in world is in its infancy, but, like in other countries where it has already existed for a long time, carding has both positive and negative sides.
According to the results of online interviews and a secondary analysis of carding research, almost all the advantages of carding are associated with various manifestations of freedom: first of all, it is the ability to fully manage your time (flexible hours) (80% of carders mention this advantage), the ability to work remotely (65%), the ability choice in 2009, the number of registered users of the site free-lance.ru - the largest Internet portal about carding was 350 thousand people. By September 2011, this number had already approached 1 million, in April 2012 it exceeded 1,100 thousand people, and by the end of December 2012 there were more than 1,300 thousand interesting jobs (56%), as well as the absence of immediate supervisors (50 %).
The main negative features of free employment are the instability and unpredictability of future income (55%), high risks and the likelihood of fraud on the part of customers (44%), as well as a difficult search for new projects (29%), which is not surprising in a highly competitive carding market-services. In addition, among the main disadvantages is the lack of a social package and social benefits and guarantees (from 27% to 32%).
