The Tchaikovsky City Court of the Perm Region recovered more than 200 thousand rubles from the owner of the account to which fraudsters transferred the stolen money for cashing out, the press service of the Prosecutor's office of Kalmykia told RAPSI.
Also, the account holder was charged interest for using other people's money in favor of the pensioner who became the victim. The ministry did not specify why the crime was not brought to an end.
"The reason for the prosecutor's appeal to the court was the circumstances related to the theft of money from a pensioner by telephone fraudsters by deception. The man who called introduced himself to the trusting woman as a "bank employee" and gave false information about the profit, as a result of fraudulent actions, the victim suffered significant material damage in the amount of more than 200 thousand rubles," the department said.
