The Center for Monitoring and Control of Public Communication Networks (CMN) will develop a system for countering attacks. This was announced by the director of the center Sergei Khutortsev.
Khutortsev noted that if the Center is now dealing with content threats and began by slowing down Twitter and blocking some VPN services, then in the future it plans to develop precisely towards countering hacker attacks that affect the entire Russian segment of the Internet.

"We intend to develop the system precisely in the direction of countering attacks and complex threats that affect the entire Russian Internet," Khutortsev said. The head of the center noted that new technological advanced methods are needed to counter the threats of interference in the operation of communication networks. "This year, the maximum power of a DDoS attack reached 2.5 terabits per second. It is extremely difficult for a single operator to handle such volumes of traffic," Khutortsev said. ...

"About 93% (telecom operators) and owners of autonomous systems are now connected to the CMU system, that is, information has already been received from them, it is processed, analyzed, validated. At the moment, we record about 2.6 thousand anomalies per hour - "interception routes BGP", - said Khutortsev
