The Central Bank will put even more pressure on drops

The Bank of Russia has been instructed to work out the issue of restrictions on drop accounts and cards. As reported Baza, this happened during a meeting of the government commission, where the issue of combating fraudsters was discussed.

“The introduction of criminal liability for the transfer of one’s accounts will also be worked out. At the same time, Central Bank officials must also provide for situations in which the transfer of one’s card will not be considered a criminal offense,” journalists reported.

It is noted that these steps will be a logical continuation of the state-initiated hunt for droppers. One of its key elements was the development of a bill on criminal liability for those who sell their bank card details. The document was sent to the government by the Ministry of Internal Affairs back in September 2024. The security forces consider the main problem not the fact of sales itself, but the number of drops, which is growing against the background of a reduction in the average lifespan of such plastic.
