do any stores offer these anymore? i've heard it's possible to change the value you put into them, or at least rewrite the original data back onto the card once it's been depleted of value. can anyone confirm? also, i know the fundamental difference between stored value cards and normal retailer gift cards is a matter of the latter being linked to an account opened upon purchase, and then debiting from this account the amount you've bought it for. is manipulation on these possible? thanks.
