Forget about "no internet" in the clouds.

SpaceX, the space company led by CEO Elon Musk, has made a statement that their Starlink satellite Internet service may become available on most aircraft in the near future. However, there is one important condition: the airline must order this service.

Musk made this statement in response to a comment from one of the users on the social network X (formerly known as Twitter). A user expressed his frustration with the lack of Internet during his 11-hour flight, claiming that the phrase "Sorry, internet not available "(Sorry, Internet is not available) is the four most terrible words in the English language.

SpaceX claims that their Starlink technology is capable of providing high-speed Internet download speeds of up to 220 Mbps to each aircraft. This means that all passengers on board will be able to simultaneously use the Internet, which is capable of streaming data. This way, passengers can easily make video calls, play online games, use virtual private networks, and much more.

In terms of cost, using Starlink on board will cost airlines $25,000 per month, plus an initial equipment cost of $150,000. Starlink is currently available on aircraft such as the Gulfstream G650 and G650ER. In addition, by the end of this year, the service is expected to be available on other aircraft, including Bombardier Global Express and Airbus A321Neo.
