The American received two years of a real term and three years of probation for an elegant crime that he tried to commit in 2018. Then a resident of Florida, along with accomplices, tried to break into a gas station in Idaho to install a skimmer inside. He did this with an ordinary crowbar.

Adrian Acosta Alonso (Adrian Acosta Alonso), who was 29 years old at the time of the incident, was forced to flee the scene along with his accomplices after a gas station employee called the police. However, they were soon found in a parked van and taken into custody. Skimmers, chip readers, plastic card readers and encoders, as well as protective seals for gas stations were also found in the car. The credit cards themselves were also found — 55 empty and 15 already recorded. All of them were stamped with the names of Alonso or his accomplices.

After several months in custody, Alonso posted bail and then pleaded guilty. However, in November 2019, when the judge was supposed to announce the verdict, the American did not appear at the meeting, having fled to Cuba, whose passport he also had. Nevertheless, in December 2022, the man for some reason returned to the United States and was detained while crossing the state border, so that after almost a year, he could finally hear his sentence.
