Calling colleagues is easier and safer than ever.

Signal messenger has introduced updates for group calls that make communication even more convenient and safer. Users can now create call links, allowing them to join calls without having to create a group chat. This greatly simplifies the process of joining the conversation by double-clicking on the link.

What's more, links can be reused, and administrators have the authority to approve or deny join requests, as well as block access to unwanted users.

Call links complement other improvements made to improve call quality in Signal. So, now users have the opportunity to "raise their hand" to participate in a conversation and use emoji reactions, adding emotions and dynamics to communication. These features allow you to actively interact without interrupting the interlocutors.

The company emphasizes that all calls still remain fully encrypted, ensuring the security of conversations. Signal uses its own video conferencing services, avoiding popular solutions that can track users.

Other innovations include a special tab for calls, available on both mobile devices and computers. Users can now quickly access call history and manage call links from a single interface.

Updated settings make it easy to turn the camera and microphone on and off, as well as control audio sources. Several modes of displaying participants are available on the desktop version: grid, sidebar, and active speaker mode.

All updates are already available in the latest version of Signal for Android, iOS, as well as desktop clients. Users are encouraged to update the app to try out new features and improve for themselves.
