The assistant of information security specialists can become a powerful weapon of evil.
An open-source tool for investigating vulnerabilities in the cybersecurity system called SiCat has become available online. Developed by Akas Visnu Aji, SiCat is a powerful system for finding information about exploits through open channels and internal databases. The goal of the project is to simplify the process of finding potential vulnerabilities and corresponding exploits on the Internet in order to facilitate the work of cybersecurity specialists.
One of the key features of SiCat is the ability to search for exploits based on user-defined parameters and sources. Supported databases include Exploit-DB, Exploit Alert, Packetstorm Security, NVD Database, and Metasploit modules, which ensures broad coverage and up-to-date information provided.
In addition, SiCat has a simple and intuitive code structure, which makes the tool accessible even for novice users. This not only contributes to ease of use, but also allows interested professionals to contribute to the development of the project.
The tool has an advanced reporting system, providing search results for exploits in HTML and JSON formats, which makes it easier to manage potential finds. Additionally, SiCat can be launched based on Nmap scan results in XML format, which extends the functionality.
Akas Visnu Aji also shared his plans for the future development of SiCat, including optimizing processes and adding new features such as performing accurate NSE script searches. SiCat is available for free on GitHub.
