Now you can hide the folder with closed chats from the home screen.

WhatsApp has introduced a new feature called "Secret Code", which offers users an additional level of protection for private chats.

In May, the company launched a global rollout of the "Close Chat" tool, which allows you to block access to confidential conversations. The user can create a separate folder for such correspondence , protected by a password or biometric authentication methods such as a fingerprint.

Now you can hide this folder using an individually set password, which can include any characters, even emojis. Private chats will disappear from the general list of conversations and become available only after entering the secret code in the search bar.

WhatsApp has also simplified the process of blocking chats. Previously, you had to go to settings to do this, but now just one long press is enough.

The "Close Chat" function hides information about blocked chats from notifications. This helps protect the conversation from prying eyes, especially if the phone temporarily falls into the hands of other people and someone can "spy" on important details of confidential correspondence. Thanks to the secret code, especially curious people will not be able to find out even about the presence of a protected folder in your messenger.

The company noted that the "Secret Code" will take communication security to a new level and will be implemented on devices around the world gradually, over several months.
