The scammers have latched onto a new topic that has gained popularity in Russia over the past few days. This time, the criminals came up with a way to build a fraudulent scheme around child benefits.

Recall that at the beginning of the week, Vladimir Putin promised to pay ten thousand rubles for children from 3 to 16 years old. It was this reason that became an ideal cover for the actions of intruders, since there were a lot of people who wanted to receive payments.

In particular, fraudsters create fake sites on which it is allegedly possible to check whether payments are due to a particular family. As reported by Kommersant, the specialists of the SearchInform company have counted about 30 new resources in the .ru-zone alone.

In domain names, attackers try to use keywords related to the current situation in the country: “COVID-19”, “government services”, “payments”, “benefits”. For example, the following variations are given: gosuslugi, gosuslugi-16, vyplaty, covid-vyplaty, posobie.

The content of such sites, as a rule, is just a copy of a legitimate government resource. Using this scheme, fraudsters can steal personal data of citizens, intercept the login and password from the account registered on the official state website.

In addition, criminals steal money from Russians. First, the victim is informed that she is entitled to the appropriate payment, and then asked to enter the bank card details to pay "tax" or "commission".
