According to US and British intelligence agencies, hackers "earned" $180 million from their attacks.

The US and UK have imposed sanctions on 11 individuals linked to the Trickbot hacking group. According to the US Treasury Department, the group attacked US government agencies, businesses and medical organizations. Particularly active attacks were recorded during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Trickbot is also known as the creator of a banking Trojan that was discovered in 2016 and used to steal financial information around the world. In 2020, the group carried out a series of attacks on medical institutions in the United States, as a result of which their computer networks were disrupted.

American and British intelligence agencies estimate the damage caused by hackers at $180 million. The list includes 11 sanctioned individuals, as well as their names:

The British National Cybersecurity Center (NCSC) emphasizes that despite the commercial focus of Trickbot's activities, the group also conducts intelligence operations.

In October 2021, the American side filed charges in connection with the activities of Trickbot to seven more people. Among them are Vladimir Dunaev, who was extradited to the United States from South Korea , and Alla Witte, who also has Latvian citizenship. They are accused of large-scale cyber attacks, including on financial institutions and government agencies.
