Russian citizen Oleg Koshkin, who was found guilty of cyber crimes, was sentenced to four years in prison in the United States.
In Connecticut, a court sentenced Russian Oleg Koshkin to four years in prison for cybercrimes. Initially, he faced up to 15 years in prison.
"For several years, Koshkin and his associates have worked to bypass our most basic cyber defense systems to spread malware on a truly global scale," FBI agent David Sundberg, who participated in the process, quoted the US Department of Justice as saying.
Recall that Koshkin appears in the case of Pyotr Levashov. They were both accused of running the large Kelihos botnet, which steals personal information from infected computers. Koshkin was detained in September 2019 in the state of California. Since then, he has been under arrest.
In July, Levashov was sentenced to 33 months in prison, which he has already served. The court also ordered the Russian to compensate $ 3.5 million in damage.
