“Accompanied by employees of the NCB Interpol of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia and the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia, a Russian citizen Maxim Buruyan was extradited from the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. He is accused of fraud on an especially large scale,” said the official representative of the Russian Interior Ministry, Irina Volk.
The illegal act was committed in Novosibirsk in 2019. It was preliminary established that the defendant, under the pretext of acquiring mobile electronics, took possession of the funds of 28 victims and did not fulfill his obligations.
The accused fled from the investigation abroad and in 2020 was put on the international wanted list.
“In April last year, a wanted man was detained in Vietnam. The Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation issued an order to organize the extradition procedure. Today, at the airport in Hanoi, foreign colleagues handed over Maxim Buruyan to employees of the NCB of Interpol of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia and the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia for delivery to Moscow,” Irina Volk specified.
