Achieving your own goals is closely related to resources: their availability, accessibility and ability to use. Among the people, it is customary to understand "resources" as money and other material values.
Is it so?
Yes, but not only material values can be a resource. What other resources are there?
Resources come in several categories:
- Internal resources are our states, skills, beliefs, knowledge, etc.
- External resources are other people, money, information, etc.
For example, an internal resource could be:
- states (calmness, self-confidence);
- qualities (perseverance, perseverance);
- beliefs ("I have the right to make mistakes");
- abilities (the ability to choose friends, the ability to convince the interlocutor);
- knowledge / information (dynamics of changes in the price of Urals oil on the London Commodity Exchange).
We can control external resources only through our own behavior. The only thing that a person can control is himself. He can control everything else only with the help of himself. That is, if we need help from other people, we can get it by acting on them ourselves. There are all sorts of words saying, smiling and gesturing. If they like our gestures, they will help. If you don't like it, then you need to gesture in some other way. Or choose other words. It is also convenient to assume that we either have all the necessary resources to achieve the goal, or we can get them.Under certain conditions, external resources can become internal: information can become knowledge, we can use other people's beliefs or learn someone else's skills.
Relaxation is very helpful when you want to take a break. But imagine: late in the evening, you are returning home, and suddenly on the way a couple of unshaven personalities come up to you and insistently demand money, clothes and valuables from you. And you start to relax ... Although here you should rather tense up and quickly run away.
Anger can be useful in sports, but it can get in the way when communicating with loved ones.
Vigor is good in the morning, but it gets in the way when you go to bed.
The resource is often there, but not in the place where it is needed right now
Many are very confident lying on the couch at home, but all confidence disappears somewhere when communicating with the boss. In short, it probably can be like this. We have a wonderful pantry inside, which has everything you need to eat. As a last resort, you can always put what is missing there. The main question is how to find what is needed right now in this hefty pantry and how to drag it from this pantry to the place where it is needed right now. But more on that in the next articles.
