An AI - based project automatically interferes with Bluetooth speakers.

Developer Roni Bandini recently introduced an interesting project called Reggaeton Be Gone. This is a small software and hardware device based on the Raspberry Pi 3 Model B, which uses the capabilities of artificial intelligence to interfere with the operation of loud Bluetooth speakers located near the system, for example, behind a wall. As a result, the sound from the speakers is distorted.

Reggaeton Be Gone complex includes:

Roni Bandini set up the Raspberry Pi to automatically detect music played through nearby Bluetooth speakers, but for efficiency, the device must be placed in close proximity to these speakers. So far, the system is only compatible with a limited set of wireless speaker models, but the developer is actively working to expand the list of supported devices.

The complex is based on the Raspberry Pi 3 B, which is connected to an OLED display with a resolution of 128x32 pixels. The scheme also includes a USB microphone and a button to start checking for music detection.

The system is running Raspberry Pi OS. Using Python and the Edge Impulse framework, Bandini trained the system to recognize popular tunes. If a match is detected, the PACK begins to interfere with the speaker's communication, seriously distorting the sound, which forces speaker owners to either turn them off or turn down the volume.

Bandini stressed that its development is primarily a demonstration of the concept of impact on audio devices, but the use of the project may violate the legislation of some countries regarding electronic devices. In the future, he plans to supplement the system with an external Bluetooth card with an antenna and introduce the function of automatic scanning and analysis of MAC addresses of speakers.

The source code for the Reggaeton Be Gone project is published on GitHub.

Previously, Bandini created a smart traffic light that turns on the green light for a motorcyclist only if you have a helmet.
