Developer CelesteBlue has announced the creation of PsFree, a new web-based exploit for PS4 with firmware versions from 6.00 to 9.60. The exploit is already available for pre-release. It should also work on PS5 with firmware versions from 1.00 to 5.50.

This exploit was created based on CVE-2022-22620 , developed by security researchers Sergey Glazunov and Maddie Stone. The implementation for PS4 / PS5 was first performed by a member of the "abc" community on the PlayStation Devwiki Discord forum, and further improvements and implementation were carried out by CelesteBlue.

In addition, CelesteBlue announced QuickHEN PS4, a universal toolset that will include all the necessary web exploits for PS4 with firmware versions from 3.15 to 9.60, as well as core exploits for supported firmwares.

It is important to note that at the time of publication, PsFree is a very recent release that is still being tested by the hacker community. Results are not guaranteed. If you are not prepared for uncertainty, it is best to wait until the situation settles down, as bug fixes will probably be available soon. Testers report problems with the current release.

PsFree is an exploit for PS4 with firmware versions from 6.00 to 9.60 and for PS5 from 1.00 to 5.50. It allows you to run unsigned code on the console for a limited time. While it can theoretically be used to run home games, in practice such exploits are usually used as entry points for privilege escalation.

There are publicly available exploits for PS4 (before firmware 9.00) and PS5 (before firmware 4.51). This web exploit can replace an existing exploit, offering a more stable implementation, or be used as an entry point in the future.

Although the official download link from CelesteBlue has not yet been published, the PsFree exploit is already available on popular Discord servers and on Twitter. However, it is worth noting that the current version may not be final yet, and there are reports of problems among users.

To test the PsFree exploit, follow the link https://zecoxao.github.io/psfree/ in the PS4 or PS5 web browser. You can also host the exploit by following the instructions on the corresponding resources.
