Game Freak has confirmed the fact of hacking the servers.

The developer of the popular Pokémon franchise, Game Freak, has officially confirmed the fact of hacking its servers. The incident occurred in August of this year, but a public statement was made only last Thursday.

As a result of the attack, the attackers gained access to the confidential information of more than 2600 employees, including both current and former employees of the company. Game Freak apologized to all victims and assured that she was taking measures to strengthen the security system.

However, the consequences of the hack did not stop there. Over the weekend, numerous leaks of internal material related to the Pokémon franchise began to appear on social media. Among the published data were the source codes of the games, early versions of character designs, as well as information about unrealized projects.

Most of the leaks appeared on the network after the official statement of Game Freak. Centro Leaks began publishing on Saturday afternoon on Reddit and X (formerly Twitter).

On social networks, the leak was dubbed "Teraleak". According to published data, the source codes of games such as Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver have been leaked to the network. In addition, the codenames of future projects have been revealed: "Ounce" for Switch 2 and "Gaia" for 10th generation Pokémon games.

The leaks also included mentions of an MMO game in development in the Pokémon universe, internal discussions from design meetings, information about an unreleased sequel to Detective Pikachu, and plans for future Pokémon films. Even a new animated series is mentioned.

The scale of the leak is striking: in addition to the source codes, a huge amount of concept art and early versions of character designs have leaked online.

At the time of publication of the news, neither Nintendo nor The Pokemon Company had officially commented on the leak situation.
