Barcodes have caused a real revolution in automatic identification systems. Time flies, the popularity of barcodes does not decrease. Why?

A barcode, with a low cost of application, provides fast and accurate data collection. The price-performance ratio is beyond praise.

A barcode is created on the principle of a light echo signal, so it refers to optical technologies. Data is encoded by bright and dark stripes of varying thickness in a certain logical order. A barcode is a graphical expression of the input, which a laser detector decodes, reads and provides communication with an electronic system. The barcode has been known since 1952. And since 1973 we know the abbreviation UPC (Universal Product Code). In Europe, EAN (European Article Numbering) is used. The use of EAN or UPC is not limited on plastic cards, since the systems are compatible, so there is no need to assign codes for specific countries.

Barcodes are used only for reading, so any change of data on the card is quite difficult. You can encrypt a number or text, any information - whatever the client wants.

The scope of application of plastic cards with barcodes is quite wide. Government agencies, gas stations, clubs, loyalty systems. Therefore, a barcode is cheap, convenient and safe.
