The countries decided to take up the elimination of cyber-evil thoroughly.

South Korea, the United States and Japan have agreed to set up an ad hoc advisory group to coordinate cybersecurity efforts, including countering North Korea's cyber activities. The idea was discussed back in August, at the Camp David International Summit.

Yoon Seok Yeol's office said the decision was made last week following talks in Washington between Deputy National Security Adviser Ann Neuberger and her South Korean and Japanese counterparts.

Within the framework of the initiative, regular quarterly meetings will be held in a new format.

North Korea is often blamed for cyber attacks aimed at financing its missile and nuclear programs. As noted in a recent UN report, in 2022, hackers working for the DPRK, especially often attacked foreign companies in order to steal cryptocurrencies. Thanks to high-tech methods, record amounts were stolen compared to previous years.

We have already written about exactly what schemes and tricks attackers use in their campaigns.
