Investigators announced suspicion to three members of an organized group who lured money from Ukrainians, promising to work in Sweden. To malefactors measures of restraint are chosen. They face up to 12 years in prison.

The cyber police of Kiev, together with investigators from the Dnipro Department of the Metropolitan Police, under the procedural guidance of the Dnipro District Prosecutor's Office, stopped the activities of an organized group that engaged in online fraud under the pretext of providing employment services abroad.

A man and two of his friends distributed ads through social networks and instant messengers offering jobs in Sweden. In the course of communication with interested citizens, the scammers informed them about the list of vacancies abroad, the procedure for obtaining priority documents for migrants, living conditions and food.

Job seekers had to pay fraudsters for "services" funds in the amount of 3 thousand hryvnia on the territory of Ukraine and 300 euros on arrival abroad allegedly representative of the employment agency.

After receiving the funds, the latter showed citizens the way to the hostel for migrants. In the future, the suspects stopped contacting the victims, who never got a job.

Cyber police operatives found that at least 40 citizens suffered from the illegal actions of the defendants. The amount of losses is 600 thousand hryvnias.

The police conducted searches at the places of residence of the defendants. Mobile phones, bank and SIM cards, computer equipment, documents and draft records were seized.

A resident of Kiev and his accomplice were suspected of committing a criminal offense under Part 4, 5 of Article 190 (Fraud). The Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for up to 12 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property.

The man was given a preventive measure in the form of detention, and his accomplice was placed under round-the-clock house arrest by the court.

The woman who pretended to be a representative of the employment agency, investigators announced suspicion in absentia. Now investigative actions are continuing to establish the location of the suspect, possible accomplices of the defendants and the full circle of victims.
