A new script from Microsoft will solve the problem of the blue screen of death.

Microsoft released a tool for system administrators designed to simplify the process of eliminating the " blue screen of death "(BSOD) on Windows 10 and 11 computers. The problem occurred due to an incorrect CrowdStrike software update. The solution involves using a bootable USB drive and a special MsftRecoveryToolForCS.ps1 script.

Earlier, CrowdStrike released a patch to fix a logical error that led to multiple cases of BSOD. However, most computers cannot automatically receive this fix due to their non-working state.

It may take weeks for customers IT systems to recover from a global CrowdStrike software outage on Windows. This is due to the fact that system administrators are forced to manually restore PCs, servers, and laptops because the remote connection does not work. You need to boot the system in safe mode and run certain commands or work with the registry.

Microsoft Recovery Tool allows you to bypass the need to manually boot your PC in safe mode and manually delete the problematic CrowdStrike update file. It greatly simplifies the recovery process by using the Windows PE environment via a USB drive. The tool gets access to the affected computer's disk and automatically deletes the problematic CrowdStrike file, ensuring that the device loads correctly.

The advantage of this method is that it doesn't require you to boot in safe mode or have administrator rights on your computer. The tool accesses the disk directly, without loading a local copy of Windows. If the disk is protected by BitLocker encryption, the Microsoft tool will request a BitLocker recovery key before proceeding with the repair process.

It is worth noting that in some cases, the MsftRecoveryToolForCS.ps1 script may not work correctly.
