In the Republic of Tatarstan, a local resident contacted the duty station of the Yamashevsky police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in Kazan with a report about the disappearance of his 26-year-old sister. The young man explained that the day before in the morning she went to work, and in the evening did not return home and stopped answering calls. Immediately after that, he was contacted by unknown people who began to demand a ransom of 1 million rubles for the release of a relative.

Police officers interviewed citizens who had last seen the girl, examined CCTV footage and established the route of movement of the missing person. It turned out that after work, she went to the bank, and then left in an unknown direction.

As a result of operational search activities, the police established that after visiting the financial institution, the applicant's relative called a taxi to one of the houses located on Khusain Mavlyutov Street. The driver of the car was promptly identified and interviewed.

The man explained that the client gave him her phone, asked him to take it to the Kazan-2 railway station and give it to the person sitting on the bench next to the entrance. However, when he arrived at the place, he realized that no one was waiting for him.

Detectives seized the gadget from the taxi driver, and then together with him arrived to the address where he received it. During the inspection of the surrounding area, the operatives noticed ambulances and the Ministry of Emergency Situations located nearby and decided to find out what was going on. When the police officers came closer, they saw the wanted local resident, who was leaving the hotel, where the fire alarm went off. Law enforcement officers stopped the girl and during her interview realized that she was a victim of phone fraudsters, and no one kidnapped her.

It turned out that in the evening the victim was allegedly written in one of the messengers by a manager from her previous place of work. The swindler said that soon representatives of the special services will contact her. Then the fake law enforcement officers who called convinced the interlocutor that a person unknown to her was trying to get a loan in her name, and it was necessary to get ahead of him. Under this pretext, the girl herself went to the bank, where she took out a loan in the amount of 750 thousand rubles, and then, on the instructions of the callers, transferred finances to third accounts. She was promised that the debt would be repaid immediately.

After that, the scammers told the deceived local resident that she needed to check into a hotel under a false name and live there for some time, because the attacker who allegedly issued a loan for her, but did not have time to get the money, wants to find her and take revenge. At the same time, she was forbidden to show her passport at the reception, told to get rid of her phone number and found out her brother's contacts.

Later, the scammers contacted the girl again and reported that the imaginary stalker found out where she lives, and she needed to escape from the hostel unnoticed. To do this, she was persuaded to set fire to the rags in her room and run out into the street with the rest of the visitors, merging into the crowd. However, the police arrived in time to explain to the victim that it was all a hoax.

On this fact, investigators of the Yamashevsky Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in Kazan opened a criminal case on the grounds of a crime under Part 3 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. Currently, investigators are identifying the persons involved in the crime.
