Installing Windows on Virtual Box

In this Tutorial I give you a step by step guide about installing windows into a virtual machine.
We are using virtualbox, which is a free software and not paid like VMware.
You can download virtualbox from here :

It is available for Linux, windows and Mac OS.

We also need virtualbox and the extension pack:

In linux you can install virtualbox aswell from your terminal :
sudo apt install virtualbox virtualbox-dkms virtualbox-ext-pack

The virtualbox extension pack has been already installed in linux but for other operating system versions you can download it from here :

Start your virtualbox and click on „NEW“

Choose a machine name.

Depending on your RAM you should choose the half of your RAM. for example 4GB RAM > 2048 MB RAM for VM.

Choose „Create a virtual hard disk now“.

Choose „Dynamically allocated“ for choosing storage.

Choose a good size.

Let's head over to the settings.

Choose the same settings and if you can't choose 4 processors, choose the half of your maximum.

Choose your Windows ISO file.

Randomize the MAC Address.

Choose your Windows ISO file.

great tutorial but I recommend this option which is much faster:

Install Vmware, and apply the patch or crack (I don't remember).

Then to speed up the process instead of opening Win7 from VMware, click on the virtualized Win7 file, avoid searching for the location of the Win7 file, and find everything ready in a few minutes,

and with MVware you have many more functions than virtualbox
