The investigative unit of the Investigation Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in Izhevsk has completed the investigation of a criminal case on charges of an 18-year-old student of committing crimes under Part 1 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (Fraud), Part 3 of Article 30, Part 1 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (Attempted fraud), Part 2 of Article 272 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (Illegal access to computer information).

According to the investigation, in the period from October 2023 to January 2024, the young man acquired 5 subscriber numbers that previously belonged to residents of Udmurtia and were linked to personal accounts, and restored access to their accounts on the Public Services portal.

Having gained access to confidential information, the young man issued microloans on behalf of the victims for various amounts and transferred them to bank accounts. Thus, the attacker received more than 120,000 rubles.

At present, the indictment in the criminal case has been approved by the prosecutor, the case has been sent to court.
