During the conversation, the fraudster convinced the victim to pay a fee allegedly for receiving a gift sent by international mail. A trusting woman, following the instructions of the attacker, transferred more than 180 thousand rubles to the bank accounts indicated to her in the correspondence. After making the transfer of funds, the attacker stopped communicating.
In the course of operational activities, the police identified, detained and delivered to the Central police department a 32-year-old citizen of a foreign state living in the city of Voronezh, who confessed to what he had done.
An investigator of the Tsentralny Police Department of the Tula Regional Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia initiated and is investigating a criminal case on the grounds of a crime under Part 2 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code "Fraud".
