Cyber police exposed a 20-year-old resident of the regional center. The attacker fraudulently obtained information to log in to the online banking of trusting citizens and issued loans on behalf of victims.
Using the obtained confidential data, the enterprising man made out online loans, and transferred the funds to other controlled accounts. Thus, the attacker deceived 27 people for almost half a million hryvnias.
In June of last year, cyber police operatives together with investigators from the regional headquarters under the procedural guidance of the Prosecutor's office of the Ternopil region conducted a search in the offender's house. Mobile phones, memory cards, flash drives, etc. were seized.
The actions of the accused are qualified under Part 3 of Article 190 (Fraud), the sanction of which provides for up to five years in prison.
Now the indictment is sent to the court.
