In the investigative part of the Main Investigative Directorate of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Chelyabinsk Region, the investigation of a criminal case on the fact of committing 65 crimes on the Internet has been completed. Charges were brought against two residents of the city of Zlatoust.
During the investigation, it was established that the attackers, acting as a group by prior conspiracy, were engaged in the theft of passport data of citizens of the Russian Federation. On the Internet, the accomplices illegally acquired 115 electronic passports of unknown people. The data obtained were used to draw up contracts on the website of the organization for the issuance of express loans for various amounts of money - from 5,900 to 10,900 rubles. Officially, the "borrowers" were the owners of passport data, who in fact did not suspect the debt obligation that had appeared.
After the remote conclusion of contracts, the microfinance organization transferred money to the bank cards of the accomplices. The defendants disposed of the money received at their own discretion. The total damage caused to the victims amounted to about 850 thousand rubles.
On the trail of the attackers during the operational-search activities, officers of the Department for Combating Cybercrime of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Chelyabinsk Region came out. The police identified the suspects and soon detained them. Searches were carried out in the apartments of the accused, where mobile phones containing information about criminal activity, as well as bank cards in the amount of 360 pieces, stolen money were transferred to them.
Criminal cases were initiated against the Zlatoust residents, born in 1991 and 1998, under Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. The defendants were charged with fraud committed by a group of persons by prior conspiracy. Employees of the Main Investigation Department of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the region took measures to ensure compensation for damage to the victims. In particular, the real estate of the accused and funds in bank accounts were seized.
The materials of the criminal case with the indictment approved by the prosecutor were sent to the Zlatoust City Court for consideration on the merits.
