He thought that he was participating in an FSB operation.

On October 19, Artem received a call from "FSB officers" and then from the Central Bank. They convinced him to take part in a secret special operation to catch fraudsters. On the instructions of the callers, Artem took 66 thousand dollars from the safe of his parents, as well as orders, medals and jewelry and handed them over to unknown persons to put into a "safe account".

A few days later, the guy received another call and was persuaded to pawn 72 gold investment coins and 17 silver coins belonging to his parents - allegedly they had to be given to the Central Bank in order to declare their property. The coins were taken by a "courier from the Bank of Russia". Finally, Artem transferred another 999 thousand rubles from his father's account. Again, to a safe account.

Artem would have continued to give money to scammers if his mother had not noticed the transfers. She immediately went to the police. The total damage caused is at least 11.4 million rubles.
