The Central (Minsk) District Department of the Investigative Committee has established the circumstances of fraud committed under the pretext of selling clothes in an online store.
According to the case file, in July last year, a 24-year-old resident of the capital decided to try to develop a business in the field of clothing trade in the Network. The girl created a page on Instagram, picked up the current range for sale and found the main suppliers of goods. After studying the needs of the market, the businesswoman offered to buy things from her at favorable prices, which soon attracted the first buyers.
Initially, the defendant fully fulfilled her obligations. It accepted payment for goods by cash on delivery after the customer received the purchase in their hands. However, this did not last long. In fact, the business was as unstable as possible. She advertised in her account a fairly wide range to choose from, although the clothes themselves were not available.
The girl acted on the principle of "buy cheaper, sell more expensive", but the scheme failed when she could not find the right thing that the client ordered, making a full prepayment for the goods. Realizing that the search was not successful, and the money must be returned, the defendant found an "original" way out of the situation – she stopped contacting the buyer.
A resident of the capital found such business conduct to her liking. For several months, she took orders, received a full prepayment, and then stopped corresponding with customers. However, in October last year, the development of the online store was forced to stop – police officers detained a dishonest seller.
During interrogations to the investigator, the accused admitted her guilt and repented of what she had done. She knew perfectly well that her actions were illegal, but the desire for easy money was more interesting than the pangs of conscience.
In total, from July to October 2023, the girl deceived more than 40 citizens and earned more than 3 thousand rubles on the" sale " of clothing.
During the investigation, interrogations of the accused, victims and witnesses were conducted, and information stored on the defendant's mobile phone was studied.
Based on the evidence collected in the case, the girl was charged under Part 1 of Article 209 (fraud). Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus. A preventive measure in the form of house arrest was applied to her.
The criminal case is currently pending in the Tsentralny District Court of Minsk.
