The attackers, a 38-year-old resident of the Lviv region and a 23-year-old Lvovian woman, were exposed by the investigative departments of the investigation of crimes in the sphere of economic and official activities of the Investigative Department of the Lviv District Police Department No. 1 together with operatives of the Department for Countering Cybercrime in the Lviv region, under the procedural guidance of the Galician District Prosecutor's Office.
Law enforcement officers documented several facts of misappropriation of funds by malefactors totaling more than 200 thousand hryvnias.
The investigators informed them about suspicion of committing criminal offenses under Part 3 of Article 190 (Fraud). Criminal Code of Ukraine and Part 1 of Article 361 (Unauthorized interference in the operation of information (automated), electronic communication, information and communication systems, electronic communication networks) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The maximum penalty that suspects face is imprisonment for up to five years.
