The investigator of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia "Krasnoyarskoye" completed a preliminary investigation of the criminal case against a local resident. He is accused of forging documents and fraud with a loss of about 30 million rubles.

“According to the investigation, from October 2021 to June 2022, citizens living in the territory of Krasnoyarsk, Achinsk and Zheleznogorsk received calls from unknown persons who introduced themselves as bank employees. They reported suspicious financial transactions on the accounts of citizens, as well as an attempt to obtain loans on their behalf. Swindlers urged to transfer money to the so-called safe account. The victims followed the instructions and sent their savings to the specified details, ”said Irina Volk, official representative of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Further, the deceived were called by a person who called himself a representative of a law enforcement structure. He warned about the initiation of a criminal case on the fact of unauthorized transactions with bank accounts, the need to appear for interrogation and the prohibition of disclosing information related to the criminal scheme.

“Later, the victims even received printed fake subpoenas summoning them to conduct investigative actions. The man who delivered them was detained as a result of operational-search activities by the criminal investigation department of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Krasnoyarsk Territory. A fake ID was found and confiscated from him.

Investigators found that the attacker helped the scammers to deceive 21 victims. The total amount of damage amounted to almost 30 million rubles. For each summons delivered, the defendant received a monetary reward.

The criminal case on the grounds of crimes under Articles 159 and 327 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation has been submitted to the court,” Irina Volk said.
