The Krasnodar police received a message about fraud from a resident of the Moscow region.
The police found that the victim on the Internet met a man who was on a business trip and was seriously injured. Believing in the difficult financial situation of the interlocutor, the victim for several months transferred money to the bank account indicated by a friend in the total amount of more than 5 million rubles, after which the man stopped contacting.
As a result of operational search activities, the police found that a 32-year-old resident of Krasnodar was involved in the illegal act. The woman was detained and taken to the police station for further investigation.
It is established that the malefactor, when communicating with the victim, introduced herself to her as a serviceman, inventing a legend about the injury.
Currently, the investigative department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the city of Krasnodar has opened a criminal case against the suspect on the grounds of a crime under Part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code "Fraud". The sanctions of this part of the article provide for a maximum penalty of up to ten years imprisonment. During the preliminary investigation, the woman was given a preventive measure in the form of recognizance not to leave and proper behavior.
