The investigator of the Department of Internal Affairs of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Komi Republic has completed the investigation of a criminal case against a 31-year-old resident of the Voronezh Region, accused of 20 episodes of theft of funds from bank accounts and one attempt at embezzlement of finances (paragraph "d" of Part 3 of Article 158 and Part 30 of Article 30, paragraph "d" of Part 3 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
It is established that the defendant called people under the guise of a bank employee and convinced them that she was stopping illegal write-offs of savings from their accounts. Misled citizens told the woman the details of their bank cards, including the number, expiration date, three-digit CVC code, as well as code passwords received on the phone. Having gained access to the accounts of the interlocutors, the malefactor transferred money to personal accounts and spent it on her own needs.
20 people, including 17 residents of the Komi Republic, were recognized as victims in the criminal case. The total amount of damage caused to them amounted to more than 880 thousand rubles.
The criminal activity of the pseudo-banker was revealed by employees of the Criminal Investigation Department of the Republican Ministry of Internal Affairs. During the search of the accused's place of residence, the police seized bank cards, mobile phones, SIM cards of various mobile operators.
For the period of the preliminary investigation, the defendant, taking into account active remorse, active cooperation with law enforcement agencies, which resulted in assistance in the detection and investigation of crimes, was given a preventive measure in the form of a recognizance not to leave and proper behavior.
Currently, the criminal case with the approved indictment has been sent to the court for consideration on the merits.
